Who It's For

From First-Time ADV to Fine-Tuning

Adventure bikes are big, heavy, and intimidating off road  especially if most of your experience is on the tar. Foxwood ADV is built around helping you ride yours with confidence, whatever level you're starting from.

Brand new to off-road? We'll take you right back to foundations, body position, clutch control, braking, slow-speed turns on flat, controlled ground before you go anywhere near a hill.

Already capable and looking to sharpen up? We'll push into hill climbs and descents, sand, water crossings, tight turn-backs, and the kind of terrain that separates riders who get by from riders who ride well.

Either way, you leave with skills you'll use every ride.

The Coach

Train With Stuart Fripp

Stuart has been riding since 1973 with dirt bikes before transitioning to road racing in 1988 — A Grade across the Australian and Australasian Superbike Championships, Formula Xtreme, Superstreet, and multiple NSW State Championship wins. He was mentored early on by one of the true greats of Australian motorcycle racing.

For the past five years his focus has shifted to Adventure Motorcycle riding. He's an accredited Motorcycling Australia Coach, a 2+ year crew member with Ride360 on their Adventure Bike Tours, and in 2026 became a riding instructor with BMW Off-road Training Australia and a marshal on selected BMW Safaris and GS Off-road Tours.

Stuart rides a 2024 BMW R1300GS. He knows exactly how these machines behave in the dirt, and more importantly, how to teach you to handle one.

Foxwood ADV - The Property

A 100-Acre Private Training Ground

Foxwood ADV is based on a 100-acre family property in Broughton, just outside Berry — two hours south of Sydney, one hour south of Wollongong, and a short run from Nowra, Kiama and the Shoalhaven.

It's a proper training facility, not a car park with cones. You'll work across hills, creeks, sand, water crossings, slow-manoeuvre zones and purpose-built drill areas — all on private land, away from traffic, at your own pace.

    What You'll Learn

Two Days. Every Skill That Matters.

Day 1 — Foundation & Control Body position and balance. Clutch and throttle control. Braking basics. Cornering setup and vision. Tight turns and U-turns. Hill starts and climbs. Progressive cone drills designed to build skills in a safe, controlled environment.

Day 2 — Application & Confidence Downhill control. Hill climbs and turn-backs. Obstacle negotiation. Sand and loose-surface technique. Water crossings and causeways. Emergency braking and evasion. A guided trail ride linking it all together.
